This is one of the greatest universities in the country. Because of its unique reputation, it is only natural that it should adopt a distinctive costume in both design and color so your doctoral achievement can be readily identified with the school and the degree earned.

OFFICIAL UC GOWN - The official UC doctoral regalia is blue, elegand and beautifully crafted. If preferred, it may be ordered in black. The gown, in an acetate fabric, may be trimmed with the PhD blue velvet or black. The edges of the velvet may be piped in blue, black or gold.

UC HOOD - The outer shell is in blue or black acetate and the inner satin lining in the UC colors - gold with blue chevron. The blue velvet trim represents the Doctor of Philosophy.

UC TAM - The soft velvet tam is available in blue or black in four, six or eight sides with the eight-sided style usually chosen. The doctoral tassel is metallic gold bullion or gold silky.

UC CAP - The standard mortarboard is in a fabric and color matched to the gown with a metallic gold bulllion or gold silky tassel.

ALTERNATE DOCTORAL APPAREL
This is a low-cost but authentic package available only in black polyester/cotton. The gown may be trimmed in blue or black velvet. The velvet may be piped in blue, black or gold. A hood and a tam with a gold silky tassel are included. These pieces may be ordered separately from the package and individually priced.
